Dior Sucessfully Opened a Green IT Classroom

On 21st November, Christian Dior, in partnership with Netspring Social Enterprise successfully set up a Green IT Classroom at Chenchun Primary school in the Songjiang district of Shanghai. The classroom was equipped with 25 desktop computers and headsets, mice, keyboards and other accessories. This is Netspring's 67th Green IT Classroom, aimed at giving underprivileged students equal access to IT facilities, and the opportunity to master new technology.

Christian Dior is supporting Chenchun Primary school, a school that caters to the needs of migrant worker children in Songjiang. The school attaches great importance to the moral education of students as well as excellent teaching quality, and has therefore maintained a high rate of student enrollment over the years.

In 2008, the school was given a number of old desktop computers which frequently broke down. Due to limited funds, these desktops could not be replaced, resulting in two to three students sharing one computer during IT class, greatly limiting the progress of IT teaching at the school.

Christian Dior reflects its long-term commitment to the development of Corporate Social Responsibility in this project. It is hoped that the Dior Green IT Classroom at Chenchun Primary school, will open up opportunities for the marginalized students of migrant workers, allowing them to receive a fairer education, gaining access to more knowledge, and growing up to become well rounded individuals.

Chenchun Primary school teacher, Zhu Jiang, expressed a sincere thanks to Christian Dior, saying that many parents of the school are interested in training the students how to master technology during their high school years, so that they have proficiency in technology skills for future employment. The setup of the Green IT Classroom is conducive to the interests of students from a young age, allowing them to become more familiar with IT software for future learning, and laying a solid foundation for career development.

Next year, Christian Dior will hold an opening ceremony at the school to mark the official opening of the classroom, along with a series of volunteer activities to better help the students improve their IT skills.
