Exploring the Digital World: Virtuos opened its first Netspring Green IT Classroom during the Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment
Organized by the French Embassy Institut Français, with the theme of “Green Economy”, the 2019 Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment (FCEM) was successfully held from Sept. 22nd to Nov. 6th in China. Netspring was honored to be part of this meaningful event with three interactive workshops in our Green IT Classrooms in migrants’ primary schools around Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu which created long term Tech4Good impact in our local communities.
On Oct. 25th, 2019, the Virtuos Green IT Classroom was unveiled in the presence of Mr. Bruno Bisson, Consul General of France in Chengdu, as well as Virtuos Senior Management and enthusiastic volunteers. This program echoed the theme of the Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment of Circular Economy, as our programs give computers a second life in Netspring migrant schools, support students not only for a quality education but also preserve our natural resources such as water, and protect our environment from electronic waste pollution.
“We are delighted to witness the opening of the first Virtuos Green IT Classroom with the great help of Netspring team! We hope our students could have better digital learning opportunities to lead them to a brighter future. Virtuos is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility and to contribute more to the society. ”
—Senior Management, Virtuos
Virtuos Group Volunteers organized two active lessons which involved an environmental activity at Virtuos Green IT Class and a vivid drawing class, with an induction to French. Guided by Virtuos volunteers, the students also demonstrated their creativity, both in IT and drawing classes.
We wholeheartedly would like to thank Virtuos Group for their dedication to a better future for Netspring children. We would also like to thank Consul General of France General in Chengdu for his participation and support of our program.
“We are grateful to Virtuos and Netspring who sincerely care about our migrant children and timely build up the Green IT Classroom, we will also encourage our students to study hard and put their efforts on environmental protection, and devote to fulfil their own dreams when they grow up.”
- Headmaster Li, Virtuos Green IT Classroom
The FCEM Beijing workshop was held with the support of Owens Corning, whom we thank for having opened their Netspring Green IT Class for the event. During the workshop, students enjoyed reflecting about environment protection as well as learn some French and English.
The FCEM Shanghai workshop also received very positive feedback from the school and volunteers, with enjoyable shared memories for all.
Netspring teams are grateful to the French Embassy “Institut Français” for providing such a meaningful platform for parties to meet and exchange to protect our planet.
