“Soapmaking for Hope” - Netspring partners with Grundfos and Robin Charity to launch a new common good initiative
On April 3rd afternoon, the inauguration ceremony of the “Soapmaking for Hope” project was held at the Sunshine Dream Workshop of Ganquan Road Subdistrict, Putuo District, Shanghai. Distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including representatives from the Shanghai Disabled Persons' Federation, cadres from Putuo District and Ganquan Road Street Disabled Persons' Federations, representatives from Grundfos China, as well as representatives from Robin Charity and Netspring.
The project is supported by Grundfos and implemented by Netspring, in collaboration with Robin Charity and relevant units of Ganquan Road Subdistrict, aiming at teaching severely disabled individuals to make handmade soaps, helping them more actively join social activities, learning skills to enhance new possibilities for future employment. The course is scheduled for the next three quarters of 2024, with themes to be well designed according to the real needs of the disabled group. Netspring team will further step in to provide relevant computer operation courses and conduct interactive workshops.
Deputy Director of Ganquan Road Subdistrict Office, gave the opening remarks to sincerely thank for the joint efforts from relevant groups and enterprises in facilitating the smooth launch of the project. John Markmann, the President of Grundfos China, also attended the inauguration ceremony and delivered a speech. He shared how Grundfos solidly practices Corporate Social Responsibility along the way and gave his best wishes to the project that could truly benefit the special populations in need.
After the ceremony, an essential oil soapmaking experiential workshop organized by Robin Charity was held for those disabled participants. With step-by-step guidance from professional instructors, participants experienced the joy of crafting aromatic soaps and acquired a set of new skill. Hoping this course could open a new door for their future careers and ignite hope for their future lives.
