On the afternoon of 13 September, five volunteers from Grundfos Hong Kong arrived at the art classroom in Happy Valley, where 10 junior middle school students from a local special school were seated under the guidance of their teachers, welcoming the volunteers with warm applauses and bright smiles. This school is opened for children with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, which aims to enable local children and young special group to develop their full potential and give back to society through "whole person education".
The event kicked off with a speech by Mr. John Markmann, Grundfos China Country President, who specifically allocated time during his trip to Hong Kong to participate in volunteering activity this time. John welcomed the students, shared Grundfos' CSR journey, and thanked the volunteers and event organizers of Netspring and Learning Bridge Association. Afterwards, Netspring team started to teach the students how to use the Paint program installed in the computer to create digital posters, mainly encouraging the students to experience the various combinations of graphics, lines and colors. The students like computers in their daily life, with volunteers’ help, they fully deployed their perception of graphics and colors, as well as their outstanding imagination to create the posts. Various unexpected and bizarre works have amazed the volunteers.

Subsequently, another organizer of this event, Ms. Yip from Learning Bridge Association, led the children to create art paintings under the theme of "Flowers, Water and Fish" on the blank flower pots. Ms. Yip used props to inspire children's understanding of theme from figurative to abstract art symbols, and encouraged children to create their artworks freely. Each child has their own little world, together, with the guidance of volunteers, they followed their own understanding of flowers, water and fish with colorful brushes on the flower pots, and even one student completed a story with a circle of drawing, and his sharing was applauded and encouraged by everyone present.
“I am very grateful to the company for giving me this opportunity to participate in volunteering activity, this is the first time that Grundfos Hong Kong has organized such a great volunteering activity, which has left a deep impression on me and touched me a lot. I especially admire the children's optimism, imagination and creative ability, and I am very happy to be able to accompany them in computer and painting courses. I sincerely hope that the children grow up healthily, integrate into society and engage in work that they enjoy in the future.”
